THE 25+ MAIN CAUSES OF FAILURE

HOW MANY OF THESE HOLD YOU DOWN?

THE 25+ MAIN CAUSES OF FAILURE

The greatest tragedy in life is the men and women who try and fail! The tragedy lies in the overwhelming majority of people who fail, compared to the few who succeed.

I had the privilege of analyzing several thousand men and women, 98% of whom were classified as "failures." There is something radically wrong with a civilization and educational system that allows 98% of people to live life as failures. But I did not write this book to moralize about the rights and wrongs of the world; that would require a book a hundred times larger than this.

My analytical work has shown that there are thirty main reasons for failure and thirteen main priorities through which people accumulate fortunes.

In this article, a description of the thirty main causes of failure will be given. As you go through the list, go through it, point by point, with the goal of discovering how many of these causes of failure stand between you and success.

   1. ADVERSE HEREDITARY HISTORY.

There is little, if anything, that can be done for people who are born with a brain disability. This philosophy offers only one method to overcome this weakness: through the help of Master Mind. Note with profit, however, that this is the ONLY one of the thirty causes of failure that cannot be easily corrected by any individual.

   2. LACK OF DEFINED PURPOSE IN LIFE.

There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central goal or a specific goal to aspire to. Ninety-eight out of a hundred of those I analyzed had no such goal.

   3. LACK OF AMBITION TO AIM ABOVE MEDIOCRITY.

We do not offer hope to the person who is so indifferent that he does not want to move on in life and is not ready to pay the price.

   4. INSUFFICIENT EDUCATION.

It is a disadvantage that can be overcome relatively easily. Experience has shown that the best educated people are often those who describe themselves as "self-made" or self-taught. It takes more than a college degree to make an educated person. Every educated person is one who has learned to get what he wants in life without violating the rights of others. Education consists, not so much in knowledge, but in real and constantly APPLIED knowledge. Men are paid, not only for what they know, but especially for WHAT THEY DO WITH WHAT THEY KNOW.

THE 25+ MAIN CAUSES OF FAILURE

   5. LACK OF SELF-DISCIPLINE.

Discipline comes through self-control. This means controlling all negative qualities. Before you can control conditions, you must first control yourself. Self-control is the hardest job you will ever have to do. You can see both your best friend and your greatest enemy by standing in front of a mirror.

   6. ILLNESS.

No one can enjoy exceptional success without good health. Many causes of ill health are subject to dominance and control. These, in essence, are:

   a. overeating unhealthy foods

   b. Bad habits of thought; give expression to negatives

against Abuse and excess in sex.

   D. Lack of adequate physical exercise.

me. Insufficient supply of fresh air, due to poor breathing.

   7. ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES DURING CHILDHOOD.

"As the twig bends, the tree will grow." Most people who have criminal tendencies acquire them as a result of a bad environment and inappropriate relationships during childhood.

   8. PROCRASTINATION.

This is one of the most common causes of failure. "Old Man Procrastination" stands in the shadow of every human being, waiting for his chance to spoil his chances of success. . Dont wait. The weather will never be "perfect." Start where you are and work with whatever tools you may have at your disposal, and you'll find better tools as you go.

   9. LACK OF PERSISTENCE.

Most of us are good “beginners” but bad “finishers” of whatever we started. Also, people are prone to give up at the first sign of defeat. Nothing replaces PERSISTENCE. The person who makes PERSISTENCE their motto finds that the "old failure" eventually gets tired and leaves. Failure cannot cope with PERSISTENCE.

   10. NEGATIVE PERSONALITY.

There is no hope of success for the person who pushes people away with a negative personality. Success comes from the application of POWER, and power is achieved through the cooperative efforts of other people. A negative personality will not encourage cooperation.

   11. LACK OF CONTROLLED SEXUAL READING.

Sexual energy is the most powerful of all the stimuli that move people to ACTION. Because it is the most powerful of emotions, it must be controlled, transmuted, and converted into other channels.

   12. UNCONTROLLED DESIRE FOR "SOMETHING FOR NOTHING".

The instinct to play drives millions of people to failure. Evidence of this can be found in a study of the Wall Street crash of 29, in which millions of people tried to make money by betting on stock margins.

   13. LACK OF DEFINED DECISION-MAKING POWER.

Successful men make decisions quickly and change them, if at all, very slowly. Failed men make decisions, if at all, very slowly and change them frequently and quickly. Indecision and procrastination are twin brothers. Where one is, the other can usually be found too. Kill this pair before they fully "tie" you to the FAILURE treadmill.

   14. ONE OR MORE OF THE SIX BASIC FEARS.

These fears have been discussed for you in a later chapter. They need to be mastered before you can effectively market your services.

   15. INCORRECT SELECTION OF SPOUSE IN MARRIAGE.

This is the most common cause of failure. The marital relationship brings people into intimate contact. Unless this relationship is harmonious, failure is likely to follow. Moreover, it will be a form of failure marked by misery and misfortune, destroying any sign of AMBITION.

   16. OVERCARE.

The person who does not take risks usually has to take what is left when others have finished choosing. Excessive caution is just as bad as a lack of caution. Both are extremes to guard against. Life itself is filled with the element of chance.

   17. IMPROPER SELECTION OF BUSINESS ASSOCIATES.

It is one of the most common causes of business failure. In the marketing of human services, great care must be taken to select an employer who inspires and who is himself intelligent and successful. We imitate those with whom we associate most closely. Choose an employer worth emulating.

   18. SUPERSTITION AND PREJUDICE.

Superstition is a form of fear. It is also a sign of ignorance. Successful men keep an open mind and fear nothing.

   19. INCORRECT SELECTION OF VOCATION.

No man can succeed in a line of action which he does not like. The most essential step in marketing personal services is to select a profession in which you can devote yourself wholeheartedly.

   20. LACK OF FOCUSED EFFORTS.

The jack-of-all-trades is rarely good for nothing. Focus all your efforts on one ULTIMATE MAIN GOAL.

   21. THE HABIT OF SPENDING WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION.

The spendthrift cannot succeed, mainly because he remains eternally in FEAR OF POVERTY. Get into the habit of saving systematically by setting aside a set percentage of your income. Money in the bank gives a very sure foundation of COURAGE when negotiating the sale of personal services. Without money, one must take what is offered and be happy to receive it.

   22. LACK OF ENTHUSIASM.

Without enthusiasm, you cannot be convincing. Moreover, enthusiasm is contagious, and the person who has it, under control, is generally welcome in any group of people.

  23. INTOLERANCE.

The person with a "closed" mind on any subject seldom gets ahead. Intolerance means that one has stopped acquiring knowledge. The most damaging forms of intolerance are those related to religious, racial and political differences of opinion.

  24. INTEMPERANCE.

The most damaging forms of intemperance are related to eating, strong drink, and sexual activities. Overindulgence in any of these is fatal to success.

THE 25+ MAIN CAUSES OF FAILURE

  25. FAILURE TO COOPERATE WITH OTHERS.

More people lose their positions and their great opportunities in life because of this failure than for all other reasons combined. It is a fault that no well-informed businessman or leader will tolerate.

  26. POSSESSION OF POWER THAT WAS NOT ACQUIRED BY OWN EFFORT.

(Sons and daughters of rich men, and others who inherit money they did not earn). Power in the hands of one who has not acquired it gradually is often fatal to success. QUICK RICHES are more dangerous than poverty.

  27. WILLFUL DISHONESTY.

There is no substitute for honesty. One can be temporarily dishonest by the force of circumstances over which one has no control, without permanent harm. But, THERE IS NO HOPE for the person who is dishonest by choice. Sooner or later, his actions will catch up with him and he will pay in lost reputation, and perhaps even loss of freedom.

  28. SELFISHNESS AND VANITY.

These qualities serve as red lights warning others to stay away. THEY ARE FATAL FOR SUCCESS.

  29. GUESSING INSTEAD OF THINKING.

Most people are too indifferent or lazy to acquire FACTS with which to THINK ACCURATELY. They prefer to act on "opinions" created by guesswork or snap judgments.

  30. LACK OF CAPITAL.

This is a common cause of failure among those starting a business for the first time, without sufficient capital reserves to absorb the impact of their mistakes and carry them through until they have established a REPUTATION.

  31. Below this, list any particular cause of failure from which the conversation has suffered that has not been included in the list above.

In these thirty major causes of failure is a description of the tragedy of life, which occurs for virtually everyone who tries and fails. It will be helpful if you can get someone who knows you well to go through this list with you and help analyze it according to the thirty causes of failure. It may be beneficial if you try this alone. Most people cannot see themselves as others see them. You may be one of those who can't.
